Explore the Future of Defence and Aerospace Manufacturing and3D Printing with Laser Lines at the DMC

Laser Lines today announces that it is hosting a defence-focused full-day event at the Digital Manufacturing Centre (DMC) on the 3rd of October 2024. The exclusive event has been designed for professionals in the defence and aerospace industries and will showcase how additive manufacturing is driving the sector’s technology enhancements in key areas including part strength and performance, weight reduction, lowering costs, and accelerating production timelines.

The event is designed to equip defence professionals with the knowledge and connections needed to harness the full potential of 3D printing.

Mark Tyrtania, sales director at Laser Lines, says: “We wanted to host this event as we can see huge developments in how additive manufacturing is being used in the defence and manufacturing industries. During the day, we will be discussing how to optimise resources, using 3D printing to significantly reduce the cost of spare parts and minimise waste; enhance capabilities as well as discovering how 3D printing can accelerate product development and expand manufacturing capabilities, offering users a competitive edge.

“We will also examine how 3D printing technologies can increase the durability and reduce the weight of critical components, boosting overall system readiness.”

The day will include a presentation by Matt Jones, Head of 3D Printing Solutions for Military Applications at Stratasys, who will be sharing information on product enhancements and use cases.

This will be followed by a session from Martin Kirk from Laser Lines, who will be sharing information on how the company has successfully integrated 3D printing into various defence and aerospace companies, leading to significant improvements in performance and cost-efficiency.

The event will also include a DMC Facility tour and a demonstration of the Stratasys F3300, the same model that has been purchased by BAE Systems’ Samlesbury facility, followed by lunch and networking.
