Between March and May 2023, CECIMO, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries and related Manufacturing Technologies, organized the sixth round of its European Additive Manufacturing Survey. This survey aims to assess key market trends in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) sector.
Launched by CECIMO, in cooperation with European national associations, this 6 month survey enables the collection of quality data directly from industry which contributes towards a European overview of the main trends in the AM market. It highlights trends in key business areas such as domestic business, AM exports, orders by material type, client industry demand and investment trend. In the UK, AMUK alongside the Manufacturing Technologies Association are responsible for collecting the data for this report.
This latest report is split into two parts. Part 1 of the report contains the results of the combined data of the CECIMO national associations’ surveys and the VDMA survey. Part 2 only contains data from the countries who use the CECIMO survey, and shows a trend based on the results of previous surveys.
The key conclusions from the CECIMO survey are as follows:
- Stronger new orders growth expected on the domestic market.
- Among AM materials, the highest orders are expected with metals.
- The aerospace and medical sector are expected to make the most orders over the next 6 months.
There is a UK specific commentary which accompanies this CECIMO report, however that is only available to AMUK members who completed the survey. The results from the UK specific commentary will be made available at the next AMUK members forum. The full CECIMO report can be found through the link below:
