MTC 3D PRINTING COURSE FOR SENIOR ENGINEERS

3D printing course run by industry leader

The industry-leading Manufacturing Technology Centre near Coventry is to run a course next month for senior engineers who are unsure of the benefits of 3D printing.

The MTC’s Practical Insight into Additive Manufacturing course is designed to help anyone considering using additive manufacturing technology in their factory, but needing to understand more about the benefits, and the need to design for additive manufacturing.

The five-day course will be held from 5 to 9 November and will be delivered by an expert engineering team at the home of the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing. The face-to-face course will provide practical experience of the end-to-end processes including the design, production and post-processing required for AM.

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is now employed across multiple manufacturing sectors in a variety of materials, producing everything from simple tools to major parts for aero engines. The MTC houses the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing bringing together the most comprehensive combination of equipment and capability in the UK.

The MTC’s learning design manager Martin Dury said:

“The course will provide practical experience of the end-to-end processes, and while there are a number of additive training courses currently available in the UK, many of these are from equipment suppliers. The MTC course is aiming to provide independent additive manufacturing advice and training to match exactly the needs of the course attendees.”

Anyone interested in enrolling on the course should contact [email protected] or call 02476 701774.
